이곳의 장어구이는 주문 즉시 장어를 잡아 빠르게 손질하여 바로 불판 위에 내놓는데 얼마나 힘이 좋은지 꼬리가 계속 꿈틀거린다. 초벌구이를 하지 않은 거라 굽는 시간은 20분 정도로 오래 걸리는 편. 장어를 푹 고아서 만든 죽과 장어 쓸개로 담근 초록빛 술 한 잔을 마시며 기다리고 있으면 절로 이 집의 연륜이 느껴진다(서너 명의 종업원도 모두 10년 넘게 근무한 분들). 직원이 앞뒤로 수시로 뒤집으며 노릇노릇하게 구워준다. 본연의 맛을 즐길 수 있는 소금구이도 좋지만 마지막 순간에 간장 소스를 발라 달콤 짭조롬한 ‘장어구이’가 이곳의 별미다.
