서울역 근처 동자동에 위치한 일미장어는 소금구이 단 한 가지 메뉴만 내놓는 집이다. 고소하고 바삭한 장어뼈 튀김으로 입맛을 돋우다 보면 숯불에 초벌로 구운 두툼한 소금구이가 나온다. 장어는 느끼해서 금방 질린다고생각하는 사람이 많은데, 이곳의 장어구이는 담백한 맛이 특징이라 물리지 않고 계속 들어간다. 함께 나오는 민물새우 빙어 찌개는 시원하고 구수한 맛이 일품. 고슬고슬한 밥에 부추무침과 구운 장어 한두 점을 남겨 양념장에 쓱쓱 비벼 밥까지 먹고 나면 기운이 솟아나는 기분이다. 주말과 공휴일, 평일에도 간혹 문을 열지 않을 때가 있어 미리 연락해보는 것이 상책이다.
